From 5 November 2011, all student visa applicants will need to include a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), issued by their intended education provider, with their student visa applications.
This requirement is part of the Stage 1 Changes to Australia's Student Visa Reform and is aimed at improving the student visa processing times.
The new CoE requirement has received strong support from the Australian High Commissioner to India Peter Varghese who believes it brings many benefits and improves the competitiveness of Australia's international education sector. "This will improve processing time as students will no longer need to wait for a Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) letter to be issued by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) before arranging their COE", Mr Varghese stated.
"Australia is a quality education destination and these changes will further strengthen that reputation. We look forward to welcoming high quality students from India. Australia is a great place to study and I encourage all Indian students to consider the many benefits of studying in Australia."
