A new law on UK visas should be applied next month to increase the number of artists coming to the UK.
There will be policies for the authorised brilliant artists to enter and stay in the UK without providing proof of professional activity.
Alan Davey, chief executive of Arts Council England, said: "We welcome the launch of this special visa scheme, which will enable the very best artists of international standing to live and work in the UK".
The project led by the Arts Council England applies only to eminent and internationally renowned artists. They will be authorised to remain in the UK three years and four months without any conditions.
According to a spokesman for the UK Border Agency, "Creative artists from across the world are welcome to come and perform in the UK. As part of our commitment to the industry, we work with organisers of international events to ensure they are aware of the application process and are able to help facilitate urgent cases".
Artists can start applying for UK visa in August. The validation of these UK visas can reach to 2012/2013. The selection criteria will be revealed on 9 August.
Although at the moment, the initiative is a trial run, but it could become permanent if there is proof of success.
