According to the British High Commission in India, visa applications under the points-based system and appointments at a visa application centre will need to be made online in India anad Nepal.
The new rule will come into effect on Monday December 12, 2011. UK visa applicants for visas under the points–based system from India and Nepal will be required to submit their visa applications online instead of applying manually.
The points-based system includes all UK visas under the Tier 1 - Highly Skilled Workers, Tier 2 - Sponsored Workers, Tier 4 - Students and Tier 5 - Temporary Workers visa categories. The rule change means that visa applicants under these categories will need to submit their visa application form by visiting the Visa 4 UK website. Visa applicants in India and Nepal will also be required to book online appointments at their nearest visa application centre (VAC) after filing their applications.
