Applicants under Partnership policy must be sponsored by their New Zealand partner. A New Zealand citizen or resident is not eligible to sponsor if he/she: - has previously supported or sponsored more than one other successful applicant under Partnership policy and that relationship ended as a result of divorce or separation; or
- has supported or sponsored any other successful applicant under Partnership policy in the last five years and that marriage or relationship ended as a result of divorce or separation; or
- was the perpetrator of an incident of domestic violence that has resulted in the grant of residence permit to a person under the special policy for victims of domestic violence; or
- has previously supported or sponsored more than one other successful principal applicant under Partnership policy; or
- has previously supported or sponsored any other successful principal applicant under partnership policy in the five years immediately preceding the date the current application is made; or
- was a successful principal applicant under Partnership policy:
- if less than five years has elapsed since the date they were granted residence under Partnership policy; or
- if they have previously supported or sponsored any other successful principal applicant under Partnership policy.
Parent migration You may be granted residence in New Zealand if your - adult child is a New Zealand citizen or resident permit holder and sponsors your application AND
- center of gravity is in New Zealand.
The ‘centre of gravity’ of your family is in New Zealand if either: - the principal applicant parent has no dependent children, and
- the number of their adult children lawfully and permanently in New Zealand is equal to or greater than those lawfully and permanently in any other single country, including the country in which the principal applicant is lawfully and permanently; or
- the principal applicant parent has dependent children, and
- the number of their adult children lawfully and permanently in New Zealand is equal to or greater than those lawfully and permanently in any other single country, including the country in which the principal applicant parent is lawfully and permanently, and
- the number of their dependent children is equal to or fewer than, the number of their adult children who are lawfully and permanently in New Zealand.
Your sponsor should - be 17 years of age or over and be in New Zealand AND
- be a New Zealand citizen and/or the holder of a residence permit or a returning resident visa for at least three years AND
- have spent at least 184 days per year in New Zealand.
Your sponsor will be responsible for providing accommodation and financial support during the first 24 months of your residence in New Zealand. Sibling or Adult Child migration You may be granted residence under this policy if you have a New Zealand citizen or resident parent, brother or sister who is living in New Zealand and who sponsors your application, and - you have no other siblings or parents who are living lawfully and permanently in the same country in which you are living lawfully and permanently; and
- you have an acceptable offer of employment in New Zealand.
Your sponsor should - be 17 years of age or over and be in New Zealand and
- be a New Zealand citizen and/or the holder of a residence permit or a returning resident visa for at least three years AND
- have spent at least 184 days per year in New Zealand.
Your sponsor will be responsible for providing accommodation and financial support during the first 24 months of your residence in New Zealand. Acceptable offers of employment should be : - for ongoing employment with a single employer (ongoing employment is permanent,or indefinite, or for a stated term of at least 12 months with an option for the employee of further terms); or
- for one or more contracts totalling at least 6 months, if you have provided evidence of having had at least two years of contract work; and
- for full-time employment (that is, it amounts to, on average, at least 30 hours per week); and
- current at the time your application is assessed and at the time that you are granted residence; and
- genuine; and
- for a position that is paid by salary or wages (positions of self-employment, payment by commission and/or retainer are not acceptable); and
- accompanied by evidence of full or provisional registration, if full or provisional registration is required by law to take up the offer; and
- compliant with all relevant employment law in force in New Zealand.
Minimum income requirement : If you are including dependent children in your application you will also have to show that you will meet a minimum income requirement in New Zealand, to ensure that you can support yourself and your dependants if you come to New Zealand. If your spouse or de facto partner included in your application also has an offer of employment in New Zealand, their wage or salary can be taken into account when assessing whether you will meet the minimum income requirement. Your spouse or partner’s offer of employment must be an acceptable offer of employment (see Acceptable offers of employment above), but does not have to be for full time employment. - No of dependent children: 1 (min income NZ $31,000/- pa)
