U.S. citizens do not need a visa for tourist or business travel to this country. Any U.S. citizen who wishes to travel to Germany for any purpose other than tourism or business negotiations (e.g. work, study, adoption, immigration, or stays longer than stipulated in the entry requirements) should contact directly, the embassy or nearest consulate.
The period of stay for US citizens visiting the Schengen states is a total of three months cumulative stay in the combined member states during any six months period. The Schengen member states include Austria, Belgium,Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden.

Requirements For Non-U.S Citizens to Obtain Visa to Enter SwedenNon - US countries ( Pakistan, India, China etc etc ) should complete the following documents to get the visa of Sweden.
Visa Requirements - TDS is not able to assist with expediting visas for Sweden at the present time. Most applicants are required to appear in person to obtain a visa. The following documents should be submitted by each applicant:
- 1 Visa Application Form, completed and signed
- Passport - valid at least 3 months beyond stay
- 2 Passport-type photographs required
- U.S. Resident Alien Card
- Airline tickets or confirmed itinerary
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Original letter of employment or 3 recent pay stubs.
- Proof establishing the purpose of your trip
- Proof of health/travel/accident insurance
Notice Regarding Visa For Schengen States - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden. As of 01 June 2001, travelers to Europe on business or tourism purposes may receive a visa for a short stay of one to ninety days, valid for all of the above-mentioned countries. A Schengen visa issued by an embassy or consulate of the above countries allows the holder to travel freely in all of these countries, However, visas for travel to Monaco and French Overseas Departments and Territories may only be issued by a French Embassy or Consulate.
- If you intend to visit only one Schengen country, you must apply through the embassy or consulate of that particular country.
- If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa through the embassy or consulate of the country which is your main destination.
- If you intend to visit several countries but do not have a main destination, you should apply for a visa at the embassy or consulate of the country which is your first port of entry.
- If you do not need a visa for the Schengen country which is your main destination or first point of entry, please note that you may require a visa for other Schengen countries you wish to visit. You should then apply through the embassy or consulate of the first country which does require a visa
